When tradition and modernity melt together
Hamburg is a city state in Germany with approximately 1.7 million inhabitants. The city’s port is said to be the largest one in Germany and Hamburg's location as the headquarters of countless big companies such as the Otto Group or Airbus. Hamburg is one of the country’s most important industrial hubs.
Culture-lovers also get their money’s worth thanks to the city’s many museums, musicals and more than 60 theatres. Since November 2016 Hamburg is welcoming a new cultural highlight and icon of the city - the Elbphilarmonie. Only a couple of minutes away from the Elbphilarmonie, one can explore the Speicherstadt warehouse district. In 2015, the Speicherstadt warehouse district and the neighbouring Kontorhausviertel were declared as a World Heritage sites by the UNESCO.
